Team
Founder
Dato' Steve Wan started his career in Citibank within emerging corporations credit department and technology department. He later joined PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting in forensic accounting and corporate recovery. Before starting his own practice, he lead the consulting arm of a boutique accounting firm, participated in venture capital management activities and held position of finance manager in a Japanese multinational group and local corporation.
With more than 24 years of corporate, professional and entrepreneurship experiences, Dato’ Steve consummately holds multiple licences, venture investments, private equity fund and oversee the operations of the professional practice under Steve & Co Asia Group.
He graduated with a Master of Finance degree and Bachelor of Business in Accounting from RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. He is a Chartered Accountant under FCPA Australia and Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA), a member of Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFPTM).
Alex Thong a director of Steve & Co Capital Sdn Bhd (registered Private Equity Management Company with Securities Commission) has 20 years of experience in the regional real estate and construction industry and certified both as a chartered engineer and in dispute resolution. He currently focuses on analysis of multi sector investment opportunities and new ventures across ASEAN and Australia.
He holds two MSc postgraduate degrees in IT & Networks and a B.Eng (Hons) in E&E Engineering from the University of Nottingham (UK) and University of Essex (UK).
Moses Tan is a director of Steve & Co Tax Advisors Sdn Bhd, (licenced Tax Agent) started his career in the field of audit in Folks DFK since 1999. Later, he started practicing as a tax agent and serve clients in all areas of taxation, including tax planning, compliance and tax administration.
Moses is a member of MIA and CTIM. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business in Accounting from RMIT University, Melbourne.
Quak Boon Siong is a director of several Steve & Co controlled entities, namely Autocosec Sdn Bhd, Vital Fact Management Sdn Bhd, Diligent Consultants Sdn Bhd, began his career in audit, tax and accounting throughout his 3-year. He later joined Siemens, a global powerhouse in the fields of industry, energy and healthcare and for infrastructure solutions as Executive Corporate Core Controller and handling budget, forecasting and cost controlling analysis activities.
He is a Chartered Accountant of Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA), a member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
David Lim started his career with KPMG. He had a 33 year long career at KPMG, where he was admitted as Partner (April 1990). He played a prominent role as Reporting Accountant for more than 30 IPOs in Bursa Main Markets. He was a chairman in Audit Committee Institute (ACI) between 2006 – 2011 and a chief examiner for MICPA between 1985 – 1995. From 2002 till 2004, he was Chairman of MICPA Code of Ethics Committee and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants Code of Ethics Committee. In May 2013, he was appointed as Council member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (“ICAEW”).
David holds independent Non-Executive Director positions for some main board companies such as Public Investment Bank Berhad (current), Manulife Insurance Berhad (2012-2021), Affin Huang Investment Bank (2012-2021), IJM Land Berhad (2012-2015), Ann Joo Resources Berhad (2013-2018), and currently Ranhill Utilities Berhad, Kawan Food Berhad, Press Metal Holdings Bhd, and Rockwills Trustee Berhad (unlisted).
Heng Chiang Pooh is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute (formerly Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), United Kingdom) since 1997. He has over 39 years of corporate experiences providing corporate secretarial services in Public Interest Entities (PIE) and SMEs.
He presently serves as a member of Disciplinary Committee Panel of the Advocates & Solicitors’ Disciplinary Board, The Malaysian Bar. He is Secretary to Rotary International District 3300 (Malayisa) Berhad and is the Secretary General of the Malaysian-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce.
Mr Heng was elected as the Honorary Secretary of the Malaysia Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) as was elected to the MAICSA Council in June 2013 and served as the Chairman of the Editorial Board and the Chartered Secretaries Malaysia Committee.
